So, my day job is doing security for the local Fox affiliate. It has given me the opportunity to “meet” several celebrities as they come in for Morning show segments. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Terri & Bindi Irwin. While signing in, they started to chat with me. Nothing major, just the weather and such. Then, as they were leaving, along with “Good-bye”, Terri said “See you later, Alligator.” To which my age showed and I replied “After a while, Crocodile.” Since Bindi was only half through the door, she heard my reply and gave a really good laugh.
Now, to me that was cool. They are really nice people. It is a bit on the uncommon side, though. Most of the people coming in for the show don’t talk and seem to have little time to even sign in properly. I don’t know what that says about them…but then again, most of them are poeple that I’ve never heard of. Along with the Irwins, Stacy Keach has been really the only other to take the time when coming into the building.
Now, the strange part is that when I mentioned the Irwins to the local gossip columnist, who does a regular segment on the Morning Show, she wanted a quote for her column about how nice they were and that they joked around. Don’t all people treat others considerately and courteously?
